Marty in the Press
Marty for Congress 2026
I’m Marty Dolan -- excited to stand up for New Yorkers in the June primary in district 14 to challenge AOC and the DSA’s protest-oriented politics.

I am a proud Democratic centrist who, like many, is alarmed about our drift from progressivism towards far-left radicalism. DSA candidates’ daily protests push tired, un-American, niche policies which fracture the political capital our generation’s leaders built.
The better way is to unify around bolder, simpler policies which get directly into mainstream households and strengthen the core of our society.
We call on donors, opinion leaders, candidates and voters to unify around New Progressivism: merging far left energy and centristsexperience. Here’s what will work.
Political Teamwork
Our constitution drove prosperity by making states partners and political parties rivals, not the armed enemies radicalism has created. Being ‘American’ is to play as a team -- NY gets 30% of its budget from federal taxpayers. Protesting for 19,500 cities to make immigration decisions is senseless in a federal republic and politically baffling as it diverts resources from Team USA’s neediest – as it did in AOC’s district, CD-14, along Roosevelt Avenue.
Policies with Purpose
Today, in NYC, radicals ‘dumb things down’ with catchy protests for every cause except fixing our schools where only 1 out of every 2 kids can read, write, or do math at grade level – poor education is one of the root causes of a lifetime ‘affordability crisis’. We must “smarten things up”, not dumb things down. We must make policies which make growing young learners into young earners a top priority.
-
Fast Start Accounts: $25,000 endowments at age 25 by rebating all prior tax deductions (up to $25,000) so we encourage young earners.
-
Family Tax Accounts: parents/guardians to have a 10% rebate on their kids’ lifetime taxes – recognizing their seed investor role in supporting education as a priority.
-
‘Engage the rich’ in our schooling process, not ‘tax the rich’.Our mutual goal should be to help our young learners become more valuable
Municipal Excellence
Working/shopping from home, sun belt migration, and exploding pension and health care obligations are complex challenges. Our society should not accept municipal demise in our northern cities. We must work with our federal partners.
-
Truth in Municipal Budgeting (TIMB), enforcing SEC disclosure to eliminate hidden municipal tax ‘timebombs’ (unfunded pensions and healthcare costs)
-
Oversight on the taking of property rights via regulation and taxation
-
‘Congestion Neutral’ federal highways – in CD-14 alone 100 million cars create congestion, damage, and health issues in a district of only 776,000 people
-
Real Equity at Last:Offering residents $80,000 mortgages/$70,000 equity for $150,000 value public housing apartments – an ownership mentality replacing perpetual dependency to strengthen schools and communities
-
Federal restructuring support for northern cities’ unfunded pension shortfalls
I have spent 40 years working internationally (including in China and Taiwan) to lead talented teams to fix complex problems: financing the cleanup of the environment, creating terrorism and travel coverages after 9/11, lowering consumer costs, and restoring confidence in the financial markets during the global financial crisis.
In politics I helped remove incompetent congressmen, backed fair redistricting, and filed complaints (successfully, against CBS and Stephen Colbert) to get the FCC to reduce biased media coverage. I have advocated with the NYS CFB for all balloted candidates to debate. I fought locally for public safety in Queens, and advocated for one of our major bridges to named after the trailblazing Puerto Rican NY legislator Olga Mendez. Nationally I was one of the first donors to call for President Joe Biden to step aside, and in 2025 I led a slate of 10 NYC centrist candidates fed up with the Democratic Party’s drift too far left.
New Yorkers are fair. We have given AOC a chance. But enough is enough. AOC is the only congressperson in US history to turn down in-district jobs AND to have constituents forced to beg the governor to send state troopers to clean out illegal immigrant gangs and prostitutes (our Restore Roosevelt Avenue coalition led this appeal to Governor Hochul).
AOC has glorified violent antisemitic protestors at Columbia University, stopped the Sunnyside yard development, and forced expensive heating upgrades to support the ‘green new deal’ – hardly team play.
AOC’s recent Munich trip was yet another disastrous showing and highlighted her of lack of interest in NYC, the Bronx, and Queens – words never once uttered in Germany. We were pleased to see AOC go to Bavaria, but disappointed she came back. Our campaign will do all we can to arrange a bus, train or even private jet out of the district for good on June 23rd.
The Democratic party needs bolder, simpler progressive policies and better candidates to set standards in policy achievement.
It will be my honor to work to deliver policy, not protests, for New York State’s CD-14.
